A free, simple and easy to understand class on how Medicare actually works: the parts, what it costs, the two main paths to coverage, drug coverage, your own timeline, and the mistakes that cost people money.

Presented by Spencer Linton, Owner
Licensed Insurance Agent

A Lancaster County local, serving individuals and families since 2020. Linton Insurance is an independent agency that works with many insurance companies, so you hear about real options, not one company's pitch.

What we'll cover

The hour, in six parts.

Plain English, categories not products. You leave knowing what decision you have to make and when.

1

Medicare: the basics

What Parts A, B, C and D each cover, and how a Medicare Supplement fits alongside them.

2

What Medicare costs

The premiums, the deductibles, the income-related adjustments, and how enrollment actually happens.

3

Two main paths to coverage

Original Medicare with a supplement and a drug plan, or Medicare Advantage: how the two main approaches differ as categories, not as products.

4

Prescription drug coverage

Why Part D matters even if you take nothing today, and how the late-enrollment penalty works.

5

Your situation and your timeline

Still working, retiring soon, covered by a spouse, or already enrolled: what changes the dates that apply to you.

6

Common Medicare mistakes

The decisions people most often get wrong, and how to avoid each one. We leave time for your questions throughout.

Who it's for

Turning 65 in the next year, or helping someone who is.

Anyone who wants to understand Medicare is welcome: approaching 65, planning retirement, helping a parent or spouse, an HR professional supporting employees, or already enrolled and never given a straight explanation. Spouses, adult children and caregivers are welcome to come along.

Bring your questions. There is no presentation of any specific plan and no enrollment paperwork. If you want to talk about your own situation afterward, you can ask for a one-on-one appointment, and that is entirely up to you.
